Well, I can safely say that our home is ready for the holidays! We (and by we, I mostly mean me ;>) had a great time putting up the tree, hanging wreaths in the windows, and tossing around evergreen tree limbs like it was my job. So much fun, and I am going to be sad to take everything down. In the mean time, we're fully enjoying it.
The picture above is of the entryway - I simply arranged some of the tree trimmings in a mercury glass vase that I already owned. I tied a red bow around the vase for a little extra touch. My mom gave us that glittery nativity scene. It is from Orient Expressed here in NOLA and I love it - perfect punch of sparkle for that table.
The pics below, in order, are of the mirror in our living room, the tree, of course, and the men of the household hanging out in the sun room.
For the living room, I simply tied tree trimmings with gold ribbon and hung it all above the mirror. I hung a large wreath in the window of the sun room and strung ribbon to the corners of the room. Another inexpensive way to add another layer of holiday cheer to the house.
